IRCTC help for busy booking mornings
Register, check PNR, cancel when plans change, and prepare for Tatkal without guessing the next click.
Before Tatkal opens
Log in early, save passenger master lists, and keep UPI ready. Ticket limits often need Aadhaar authentication inside IRCTC. Use official irctc.co.in or the Rail Connect app only.
Account first
A working login beats a rushed signup at 9:55 AM. Fix OTP and password resets the night before festival travel.
Read PNR after booking
Confirmed, RAC, and waitlist mean different boarding plans. Check again after chart preparation for coach and berth.

How to use this hub
Start with registration if you still share a relative's login. Move to Tatkal only after passenger details and payment methods are saved. When a booking exists, use PNR status before you panic-buy a second ticket. Cancel early when plans die so refund rules still help.
Confirmed Tatkal tickets rarely refund on voluntary cancel. Read the cancel guide before you tap confirm. If IRCTC blocks more bookings, complete Aadhaar authentication for higher limits instead of creating duplicate accounts.
Festival weeks overload the site around 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Keep a wired or strong mobile connection, log in ten minutes early, and avoid refreshing mid-payment. If money leaves UPI without a PNR, check transaction history before you book again for the same passengers.
This hub links English walkthroughs with official IRCTC URLs. It does not replace railway circulars, but it does tell you which screen to open first on a busy travel week.
