Delhi electricity is split across BSES Rajdhani (BRPL), BSES Yamuna (BYPL), and Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL). Online pay is straightforward once you pick the same company printed on your bill and enter the correct CA / consumer account number.

This guide shows how to identify your discom, pay on the official site or app, and use BBPS when the site is slow.

Step 0: Identify your discom

Clue on the billLikely discom
BSES Rajdhani / BRPLBSES Rajdhani Power Limited
BSES Yamuna / BYPLBSES Yamuna Power Limited
Tata Power-DDL / TPDDLTata Power Delhi Distribution

Also confirm the CA number and registered mobile. Colony WhatsApp rumours about "which company covers which lane" are often wrong after boundary changes.

IMPORTANT

Paying the sister BSES company with a mistyped CA can fail fetch or, worse, need a manual reversal. Always select the exact biller name from the bill header.

What you need

  1. Latest bill PDF or photo showing CA number and due amount
  2. Registered mobile for OTP
  3. UPI, net banking, or card
  4. 10 minutes to save the receipt

Step 1: Open the correct official pay page

BSES (Rajdhani or Yamuna):

  1. Start from bsesdelhi.com.
  2. Choose the BRPL or BYPL journey that matches your bill (sites often label Quick Pay / online payment per company).
  3. Prefer bsesdelhi.com links from the bill or the official site menu.

Tata Power DDL:

  1. Open the TPDDL consumer portal linked from tatapower-ddl.com.
  2. Use Quick Pay / Pay Bill with your CA number.
  3. Avoid random "Delhi electricity bill pay" ads in search results.

Bookmark the exact Quick Pay URL after one successful visit so you do not re-hunt every month.

Step 2: Enter CA number and review dues

  1. Enter the CA number exactly as printed (watch leading zeros).
  2. Complete captcha / OTP if asked.
  3. Read customer name, address short form, bill month, due date, and payable amount.
  4. Add arrears or late fee lines into your mental total before you approve UPI.

If the name is not your household, stop. You may have mistyped the CA number.

Step 3: Pay and store the receipt

  1. Choose payment mode.
  2. Finish UPI or banking authentication.
  3. Download the official receipt PDF or screenshot the success page with CA number, amount, and transaction ID.
  4. Keep it until the next bill shows zero arrears for this cycle.

TIP

Name phone folders BRPL-2026-09 style by discom and month. Customer care calls go faster when you can read the receipt ID aloud.

Step 4: Official apps

  1. Install only the app named on the discom website or bill (BSES or Tata Power DDL branded apps).
  2. Register with mobile OTP and link the CA number.
  3. Enable bill notifications so you pay before due date without waiting for paper.

App login helps for history, outage alerts, and service requests after payment. Quick Pay on web is enough if you only need monthly clearance.

Step 5: BBPS / Bharat Connect backup

  1. Bank or UPI app → Bill payment → Electricity → Delhi.
  2. Select BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna, or Tata Power DDL to match the bill.
  3. Enter CA number → Fetch → Pay.
  4. Save the BBPS reference plus your UPI reference.

Connection, temporary, and landlord tips

  • New connection: Temporary numbers change after regularisation. Update your BBPS saved biller when the CA number changes.
  • Tenant: Prefer paying from an account you control and keep receipts. Verbal "owner will pay" arrangements fail during disputes.
  • Dual meters: Pay each CA separately. Bundling in your head causes missed dues on the second meter.

When payment succeeds but the app still shows due

  1. Wait a few hours, then refresh.
  2. Check whether you paid a partial amount while arrears remain.
  3. Call the number on the bill with CA + receipt IDs. Do not create a second full payment until the discom confirms failure.

Outages vs bill pay

Paying the bill does not restore supply if there is a feeder fault or a separate disconnection for non-payment already executed. For outage status use the discom app or helpline. For disconnection due to arrears, clear dues and ask care for reconnection timelines and any reconnection fee rules on your tariff.

Also keep a photo of the meter and the last paid receipt together. When a care agent asks whether you paid before or after a disconnection order, that pair of proofs settles the timeline faster than a verbal claim.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I am on BSES or Tata Power DDL?
Check the logo and company name on your bill. South and West Delhi are often BSES Rajdhani, East and Central often BSES Yamuna, and North / Northwest often Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL). Do not guess from the colony name alone.
What is a CA number?
CA (Consumer Account) number is the account ID printed on Delhi discom bills. You need the correct CA number for quick pay and BBPS fetch.
Can I pay from any UPI app?
Yes if you use BBPS / Bharat Connect inside that app and pick the exact biller. You can also pay on the discom website or official app.
What if I paid the wrong discom?
Stop and contact both customer care lines with CA numbers and payment references. Prevention is easier: match biller name to the bill before every pay.
